Serpentine

I really love making this work - maybe it's because I'm the year of the snake, maybe it's because the form relates so much to the movement of water, the elements, or the iconic mystery of the snake in our human story.

Sometimes they find their own shape, like it's destined, and it instantly feels good, not wrestling with it, or over shaping.

Experimentation of form and ideas.

I often show work at the greenware stage, it’s my favorite part in the life of a pot. It’s finished being made (before it’s bone dry), when it’s drying, before anything happens to it, it’s still moving, living, breathing, changing.
